Great article! The article seems geared around existing restaurants. When launching a new concept, different from any in the local market, we must create awareness and ultimately devote all marketing efforts to new trial. Grand Openings are great, but a campaign must follow to reach those that may not have seen the grand opening campaign. Do you recommend any articles that you all have written about effective awareness campaigns for new restaurants?

Thank you for the great articles.

Thank you for your post, I am just reading it now. You make some excellent points substantiated by statistics which is rare in this industry. There is a point I am not sure I agree in your section: 'How Much to Spend." but it is an interesting perspective. Your point is that spending marketing dollars to "drive traffic" during slow periods does is not likely to generate an ROI on that spend. The question I have: On overage, do you believe the traffic pattern into a restaurant a zero sum game? Specifically, if you do influence consumer behavior of existing customers to come to the restaurant at slower time periods (4-6pm), are you cannibalizing your traffic at normal hours? I am not sure, but there are a number of tools available to find out. Thank you again for your post!
